The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will produce and release 100 million juvenile fish in the 100th anniversary of the Republic within the framework of the Fishing of Water Resources Project.
The Ministry continues uninterruptedly its efforts to bring the juvenile fish of certain sizes to the water and to clean the fishing gear in the seas.
The "Fishing Water Resources Project" is being carried out in order to replenish stocks, increase fish production and protect biological diversity.
Within the scope of water resources development activities, 15 types of production are made and released to water resources. While fishing activities continued at the level of 2020-30 million per year until 40, the number of fish produced increased with the transfer of 2021 aquaculture production facilities operating under the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works to the General Directorate of Fisheries and Fisheries in 7.
While 89 million juvenile fish were produced and released to the resources by the Ministry last year, 76 million 373 thousand 300 of them were carp, 71 thousand 500 of them were sea bass, 71 thousand of them were sea bream, 20 thousand of them were trout and 9 thousand of them were turbot.
In the last 10 years, a total of 176 million 185 thousand carp, 9 million 500 thousand chabut, 820 thousand siraz, 170 thousand 500 turbot, 80 thousand large graniose, 23 thousand sturgeon, 21 thousand trout, 21 thousand springs, 5 thousand Black Sea trout, 1033 sea bream -Sea bass, 1000 lobster, and 1000 sea bass fish were released to aquaculture sources.
The Ministry also started production preparations in line with the goal of producing 100 million juvenile fish in the 100th year of the Republic and releasing them to the sources.
2,3 MILLION LIVES OF AQUACITY SAVED
The Ministry also implemented the Project of Cleaning the Seas of Abandoned Hunting Vehicles in 2014. Within the scope of the project, 103 million square meters of area have been scanned so far, approximately 800 thousand square meters of ghost net and 35 thousand baskets, pinters and other hunting tools have been removed. Thus, the lives of approximately 2,3 million aquatic creatures were saved.
While awareness studies are being carried out with fishermen, non-governmental organizations and municipalities, new fishing gears that are lost in this context are identified and removed.
