Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu, Deputy Minister Enver İskurt and Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) General Manager Hasan Pezük had a fast-breaking meal with Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train Line employees. Speaking at the iftar program held at the Elmadağ construction site, Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu underlined that Ramadan was sad this year due to the “Disaster of the Century” earthquake that stifled our country. Karaismailoğlu stated that they are struggling with all the Ministry personnel to heal the wounds of the earthquake, and expressed his condolences to the relatives of the citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake. “The great, mighty Türkiye will erase the traces of the earthquake.” Minister Karaismailoğlu said that the construction of cities has been continuing at a great pace in the last two months.
Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that while the fight against the earthquake was continuing, the works on infrastructure projects continued all over Turkey, “We will open very large projects in the next month. The Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train Line, which we are examining today, is one of the mega projects of our country. Hopefully, with your support, we will put the Ankara-Sivas High Speed Train Line into the service of our nation this month. These proud projects are your efforts. History will write them down. It is one of the most important projects that will be written in golden letters in Turkey's railway history. We are currently operating high-speed trains on a 1400-kilometer line across Turkey. We will also add this 400-kilometer line to this. One of our brothers, who takes the train from Sivas, Yozgat and Kırıkkale, will reach Istanbul without interruption. We will not leave this line in Sivas. We will continue because our goals are big. It will continue from here to Erzincan, Erzurum, Kars and from here to Baku.” said.
Reminding that the 4-kilometer line railway works continue throughout the country, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “The coming years will be railway and high-speed train years. These lines are very important in both passenger and freight transportation. Last year, 500 million tons of freight were transported by rail. In 38,5, we will increase this 2050 million tons of cargo to 38,5 million tons. Last year, we carried about 448 million passengers by high-speed train. With these investments, we will increase this number to 20 million passengers. Our goals are big. When we said this 270 years ago, it didn't sound convincing, but Turkey went beyond her dreams. He did many unimaginable jobs. You have a great effort in the making of these projects. These are revealed thanks to my colleagues who love their country and nation. As a result, our country wins, our citizens win. With these investments, the economy develops, employment and production increase. You build big infrastructure projects once and use them for centuries. When you build this infrastructure, there is no obstacle to the development of the country.
