The Mounted Police Headquarters teams within the Adana Police Department conduct drills from time to time for an effective response to social events.

The mounted police unit, which was formed to intervene in social events in Adana and to ensure security in social areas where the public is concentrated, is getting ready for duty by going through regular trainings.

Established 1,5 years ago within the Provincial Security Directorate Riot Force Branch, the Mounted Police Group Chief teams are working to establish peace and security in the city.

The teams perform frequent drills in order to be ready for duty at any moment in stadiums, sports halls, concert venues, parks and streets with an effective response to social events.

In the exercise carried out in this context at the Mounted Police Group Headquarters, named after Martyr Police Chief Altuğ Verdi, the Mounted Police took precautions against social events as per the scenario.

In the exercise, in which fog and sound bombs were used, the horses were accustomed to environmental factors so that they would not be startled in sudden events and loud environments.

“Our Priority Is To Ensure The Peace and Confidence Of The Citizens In The Parks And Gardens”

Police Officer Hızır Ali Ayhan, who is in charge of the Mounted Unity Group Headquarters, stated that he started to work in the Riot Police Department in 2019 and said that he voluntarily participated in the Mounted Police course opened in this process.

Stating that he was assigned to the Mounted Police Headquarters in Adana after the 4-month training he attended in Ankara, Ali Ayhan noted that he started his work every morning with the care of the horses.

Ali Ayhan explained that the horses went on duty after preparing the riding gear and taking care of them for the last time, and continued as follows:

“Our primary duty is to ensure the peace and security of citizens in parks and gardens. We are also involved in responding to social events. We can easily enter places where motor vehicles cannot enter with our horses. In this sense, there are positive feedbacks from our people. In a way, horses form a bond between us and the public. We have 10 horses working with us. There is bound to be a bond between you and one of them. I think there is a different bond between us and the horse named 'Kocabey'. When I groom, I feel the bond between us gets stronger because when I groom, he rests his head on my shoulder and wants to be loved.”

“As Police Women, We Get Positive Feedback from Citizens”

Tuğçe Savranlı, one of the mounted police, said that she voluntarily joined the mounted police unit because she loves animals.

Stating that they received training against the risks they may encounter outside, Tuğçe Savranlı stated that they train frequently in order to be ready for duty at any time.

Tuğçe Savranlı stated that they received positive feedback from the citizens as female police officers serving in the mounted police unit and said, “Our citizens say that they are proud when they see us on horseback. This also makes us happy. We are in the fields to ensure the safety of our people and to fight criminals.” she said.

Tuğçe Savranlı, who defines the horses they work with as her "friends", noted that they create a different bond between them because they take care of and take care of the horses every day.

Tuğçe Savranlı reminded that this year is the 178th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkish Police Organization and said, “Our organization continues to strengthen itself day by day. In this way, we instill trust in the friend and fear in the enemy. We continue to strengthen ourselves day by day.” used the phrases.
