Antakya Civilizations Chorus also gave support to the “One Rent One Home” campaign initiated by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality for earthquake victims. The entire proceeds of the concert, which will be held at Kültürpark Open Air Theater on Saturday, April 15 at 21.00, will be donated to the campaign.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which started the "One Rent One Home" campaign to find a solution to the housing problem of the citizens after the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş and affecting 11 provinces, continues to heal the wounds with solidarity concerts. The Antakya Civilizations Choir, which lost 7 of its artists and many of its members were pulled out from under the rubble, will give a concert on Saturday, April 15, at the Kulturpark Open Air Theatre. The concert, which will be held with the participation of guest artists under the direction of Yılmaz Özfirat, will start at 21.00. Tickets were offered for sale at birkirabiryuva.org for 100 TL. Those who cannot attend the concert will be able to contribute to this solidarity with the unattended ticket option of 50 TL.

Nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize

Founded in 2007, the Antakya Civilizations Choir organizes solidarity concerts in the cities destroyed by the earthquake to heal the wounds. The ensemble will also perform songs in memory of its members Mehmet Özdemir, Gizem Dönmez, Hakan Samsunlu, Pınar Aksoy, Fatma Çevik, Müge Mimaroğlu and Ahmet Fehmi Ayaz, who lost them in the earthquakes.

The choir was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2012 and received the Ministry of Culture Special Award in 2019-2020.
