Continuing its activities in line with the understanding of social municipality, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has signed a 'child-friendly' application together with the Toy Library Association.
'Toy Libraries' were opened in Altındağ, Ahmetler, Batıkent, Mamak and Sincan Children's Clubs affiliated to the Women and Family Services Department. Thanks to the project; Children who do not have access to toys are brought together with toys.
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has implemented another project for children living in the capital.
The Department of Women's and Family Services brought a "Toy Library" to Ankara within the scope of its cooperation with the Toy Library Association.
IT IS TARGETING TO GAIN SHARING HABITS
Receiving a toy donation with its campaign, ABB separated and packaged these toys and established Toy Libraries in Ahmetler, Altındağ, Batıkent, Mamak and Sincan Children's Clubs.
Thanks to the Toy Libraries, which are no different from the functioning of a library, children who do not have access to every toy they want due to economic reasons can buy a toy they choose here and take it home for 2 weeks. At the end of the time, the child who brings and delivers the toy can then buy a new toy and go.
With the project, which aims to enable children to play with the toys they want, it is aimed to give children the habit of sharing and a sense of responsibility at an early age.
Stating that the toy libraries will operate in 5 centers for now, Head of Women and Family Services Department Dr. Serkan Yorgancılar said, “Our children from Ankara will take toys from these centers and leave them behind after playing for a while at home. We will serve in the same format as a normal library operation.”
One of the supporters of the project, Dilara Tuğrul, Member of the Board of the Toy Library Association, gave the following information:
“Thanks to our cooperation with Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, we established 'Toy Libraries' in 5 Children's Clubs. From here, we enable children to play with toys and bring them together with artistic activities. Many thanks to everyone involved.”
DONATION CAMPAIGN CONTINUES
While the toy donation continues within the scope of the project, citizens who want to support; Ahmetler will be able to make donations by going to Altındağ, Batıkent, Mamak and Sincan Children's Clubs.
