Two More New Cultural Values ​​of Turkey Submitted to UNESCO

“Traditional Overalls Making and Execution” and “Traditional Handicrafts Conservation Program: Altıneller Traditional Handicrafts Festival” were submitted to UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists for consideration in 2024 by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Under the moderation of Turkey, Traditional Overalls Production was nominated for the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity as a joint file with North Macedonia, and Altıneller Traditional Handicrafts Festival was nominated for the List of Good Conservation Practices as a national file.

Türkiye Will Become the 2nd Country to Record the Most Cultural Values

Turkey ranks 25rd in the world with 3 cultural values ​​registered in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists.

The Ministry, which presented 5 new cultural values ​​to UNESCO for evaluation in 2023 last year, will increase the number of registered cultural values ​​to 30 as of December this year. Thus, Turkey will rise to the second place in the ranking of the countries with the most cultural values ​​in the lists.
