The “100. Annual Turkish Woman Photography Exhibition” was opened at the Esenboğa Airport TAV Gallery Exhibition Area.

Speaking at the opening, Minister Derya Yanık touched upon the works they carried out after the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş and stated that they have been with the victims since the first moment of the earthquake and that they have made plans to ensure the continuity of the works.

Stating that they resolutely continue to fight against all kinds of discrimination against women, which they see as the foundation of family and society, Minister Yanık expressed that they believe that society will rise with the value placed on women. Derya Yanık noted that they accept the value given to women as a value given to the family and humanity.

Minister Derya Yanık emphasized that photography occupies a very important place in the visual memory formed in the last 100 years and that the Photojournalists Association of Turkey has built a very important memory since 1985. In this context, Minister Yanık said that they aim to present a new memory to the nation with the Photojournalists Association of Turkey in the 100th anniversary of the Republic.

The participation of 100 photographers in the competition with 420 thousand 3 photos made it difficult for the jury, but we were also happy. After long evaluations, hard work, and evaluation of some photographs many times, Uğur Yıldırım took the first place in the 59th Anniversary Turkish Woman Photography Contest with a picture of nurse Ece Özcan, who took care of the babies of mothers caught in Covid-100 during the Kovid-19 epidemic.”

The exhibition can be visited until April 23.

Minister Derya Yanık stated that in the competition where Selahattin Sönmez was second with the portrait of Young Women Fencing Kılıç National Team Captain Nisanur Erbil, Mehmet Yılmaz won the third place with the photo of a woman doing sports on the İzmir Güzelyalı Bridge. Stating that 35 photographs evaluated by the jury stand out in honorable mention, interaction and exhibition categories, Minister Yanık said that the exhibition can be visited until the evening of 23 April. After the speeches, the exhibition was opened.
