IMM President and Nation Alliance's Vice President candidate Ekrem İmamoğluattended the turnkey ceremony of the Bağcılar Kiraz Evler project, the construction of which was completed by KİPTAŞ, a subsidiary of İBB. Delivering the keys to the beneficiaries of the earthquake-proof and safe houses with the Istanbul Renewal model, İmamoğlu said, “Our understanding of urban transformation is an issue that has been handled like a life saving issue. The Istanbul Renewal platform, which we opened in 2021, is an exemplary organization for correct and easy urban transformation.”

KİPTAŞ, a subsidiary of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), completed the first of the projects that it started to build with the Istanbul Renewal model. The beneficiaries of Kiptaş Bağcılar Kiraz Evler, one of the projects within the scope of the '300P Project in 300 Days' service marathon, got their homes. “TOO LONG TIME THEY SEEKED A REMEDY FOR TRANSFORMATION”

Citing the turnkey Bağcılar Kiraz Evler project as an example, İmamoğlu said, "It is a clear indication that we know this business very well and that we are doing it right." Sharing the information that the old flats for urban transformation were built in 1992, İmamoğlu said the following about the process:

“The old site was declared a risky structure in 2017. The residents of the site sought a solution for conversion for a very long time. They lived in fear in flimsy blocks. In the end, they got a two-thirds majority of our encouragement again in 2020. They applied to KIPTAS. KIPTAS started working on the sample project. The architectural project was also shared with its residents and presented to their liking. We started the demolition of this place in 2021. When we started the demolition of this place, it was planned to be demolished in three days because it was eight blocks. But it was destroyed in exactly eight hours. It was a building that was in such bad conditions.”

KURT: WE RETURNED PEOPLE TO HOME BEFORE THE DISASTER

KİPTAŞ General Manager Ali Kurt underlined that Istanbul is Renewing is the first concrete application for Turkey to become resilient cities. Kurt said, “We are very lucky and happy to be able to evacuate our people to their new homes before a possible disaster in the city site where approximately eight hundred people live today. We managed a fast process. We are starting to partially deliver our project, which consists of 523 residences. Hatice Döğer, one of the rights holders who took the key of her house from İmamoğlu, said, “I call this day a holiday. A lot of effort was put into it, but thankfully it was not in vain”.

THE CONSTRUCTION OF EARTHQUAKE RESISTANT NEW HOMES IS COMPLETED

The foundation of the Bağcılar Kiraz Evler transformation project, consisting of 253 residences, was laid in June 2021. The project was the first turnkey application within the scope of the Istanbul Renewal model.

In the project, which is designed as a closed site and consists of 4 blocks; There are 253 flats and 1 kindergarten. The square in the middle of the blocks; It was equipped with landscape elements such as children's playgrounds, sports and sitting areas and an ornamental pool. There is also a closed parking lot on the site where the social facility is also located.
