65 Districts Affected by the Earthquake Became 'Centers of Attraction'

9 districts in 65 provinces affected by the earthquake that shook Turkey deeply were included in the Attraction Centers Programme. The Presidential Decision on the subject was published in the Official Gazette. With the decision, investments in 9 districts of 65 provinces will benefit from the 6th region incentives. The investment environment in these districts will be improved and employment will be increased. Damaged buildings will be tied to an incentive certificate, and repair or renewal of damaged machinery and equipment will be supported.

The Decision on Amending the Decision on Supporting Investments within the Scope of the Attraction Centers Program entered into force with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette will be executed by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

ADVANTAGEOUS SUPPORT

With the regulation, it is aimed to improve the employment and investment environment in the region by providing more advantageous supports to the investments to be made in 6 districts of 9 provinces, which were determined to be significantly affected by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş on February 65th.

INVESTMENTS OF AT LEAST ONE AND A MILLION MILLIONS

Investments of at least 1 million 500 thousand liras will benefit from the decision of the new president. Investments to be made within the scope of the new incentive certificate application will be covered. Investments aimed at replacing the damages in existing investments in terms of both machinery and equipment will be supported. In addition, investments within the scope of investment incentive certificates whose investment period continues and whose completion visa has not been issued will also be able to benefit from this support.

INVESTMENT ISSUES ARE MORE COMPREHENSIVE

The investment topics to be supported will be more comprehensive than the current implementation of the Attraction Centers Programme. Certain conditions will not be sought for some investments in the manufacturing industry. Energy and mining and agriculture and livestock investments will also be included in the support mechanism.

6th REGION INCENTIVES

With the arrangement, investments to be made in 65 districts will benefit from the 6th region incentives, which are the most advantageous. Financing cost support will be applied up to 10 million TL, not to exceed 30 percent of the investment amount. Investments in the scope; It will be able to use incentives such as VAT exemption, Customs Duty Exemption, Tax Deduction, Employer's Share Support for Insurance Premium, Allocation of Investment Place, Insurance Premium Worker Share Support.

DAMAGED INVESTMENTS

The new Presidential Decree also covers investments for the renewal of damaged investments. In addition, damaged buildings and constructions can be rebuilt. Investments for the repair of damaged machinery and equipment or the supply of new ones can be linked to the incentive certificate. Existing and additional employment rates will be considered in determining employment supports according to the level of structural damage or damage to machinery and equipment.

The provinces and districts that will benefit from the regulation are as follows:

  • Adıyaman: Besni, Çelikhan, Gerger, Gölbaşı, Kahta, Merkez, Samsat, Sincik and Tut. (9)
  • Elazig: Alacakaya, Arıcak, Baskil, Karakoçan, Keban, Kovancilar, Maden, Palu and Sivrice. (9)
  • Gaziantep: Araban, Ishahiye and Nurdagi. (3)
  • Hatay: Altınözü, Antakya, Arsuz, Belen, Defne, Dörtyol, Erzin, Hassa, İskenderun, Kırıkhan, Kumlu, Payas, Reyhanlı, Samandağ and Yayladağı. (15)
  • Kahramanmaraş: Afşin, Andırın, Çağlayancerit, Duldadiroğlu, Ekinözü, Elbistan, Göksun, Nurhak, Onikisubat, Pazarcık and Türkoğlu. (11th)
