Young star Tuğba Danışmanz, who has made great progress in the last two seasons in triple jump, is locked in Istanbul 2023.

Turkish triple jump record holder Tuğba Danışmanz, who has also won the European U23 championship in her career, continues her preparations for the 2023 European Indoor Athletics Championships in Ataköy. Tugba, 23, who continued her pre-season camp in Mersin, made all her plans to achieve a historical success by taking the podium in her own branch at Ataköy Athletics Hall in March.

In 2021, Danışmanz became the first female athlete in Turkey to pass the 14-meter dam in three steps, and subsequently won a gold medal at the European U23 Championships in Gavle, breaking another first. Last summer, Danışmanz went to the World Athletics Championships in Eugene and became the first Turkish athlete to achieve this in three steps.

Having gained significant momentum with the trainer Cahit Yüksel, whom he started working with in 2019, and improving his degrees every year, Danışmanz cites the European Indoor Athletics Championship in Istanbul as his most important goal this year. Underlining that he usually scores very consistently in indoor competitions, the Turkish record holder said, “Why not set a new record and a gold medal in front of my audience in the hall in Istanbul, where I broke the Turkish record many times before? I know I can do this,” he says.

Tuğba, who changed her name to "Gold Medal" with a humorous reference on her social media account in the past weeks, seems to have found a clever way to engrave her target every time she opens her account.

Tuğba Danışmanz, who is among the promotional ambassadors of Istanbul 2023, is responsible for conveying the message of "forward transformation". While summarizing his mission, Tuğba said, “Since our direction is future-oriented, we underline the word forward to emphasize this in a sense. For a more livable future, we have to place recycling at the center of our lives.”
