The aid mobilization initiated by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality after the earthquake that shook Turkey continues. In 10 days, 154 trucks, 123 trucks, 3 planes, 3 ships, 4 buses were delivered to the region with cargo. The amount of donations to the "Hope Movement" and "One Rent One Home" campaigns reached 63 million liras.
The mobilization initiated by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality for the disaster area after the earthquake, the epicenter of which was Kahramanmaraş and affecting 10 provinces, is growing. While the donations collected in the city are delivered to the region by land, sea and air, 779 personnel of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality work in the region with 646 vehicles. In the tent areas set up, earthquake victims are provided with shelter and food.
Aid delivered
With the support from the people of Izmir, 10 trucks, 154 trucks, 123 planes, 3 ships and 3 buses were sent with cargo in 4 days. 514 thousand 198 blankets, 25 thousand 708 food packages, 7 thousand 700 quilts, 851 thousand 787 pieces of clothing, 18 thousand 396 hygiene packages, 14 thousand 299 packages of hygienic pads, 33 thousand 678 diapers and formula, 677 thousand liters of drinking water, 862 tents, 10 thousand 40 stoves and heaters, 181 tons of fuel, 65 generators, 3 tons of apples, 33 thousand 359 liters of milk and tons of humanitarian aid materials were sent to disaster areas under the coordination of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Distributing milk to earthquake victims
The needs of earthquake victims are met through the Disaster Coordination Centers established by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in Hatay, Osmaniye, Adıyaman and Kahramanmaraş. Children in the earthquake zone also benefit from the Milk Lamb Project of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Metropolitan teams started to distribute the milk sent from Izmir to the children in the earthquake area.
Hygiene and cleaning works also started
In order to prevent epidemics in the region, work was started with garbage trucks, washing vehicles and cleaning personnel. The 33 mobile toilets sent to the region by the City Cleaning Department were quickly installed. The hygiene and cleaning of the toilets are also provided by the municipality teams.
Total aid reached 62 million 901 thousand 975 TL
The “Movement of Hope” started by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality for those who want to support the humanitarian aid materials needed by the earthquake victims is growing. 46 million 501 thousand 285 liras were donated to be delivered to the region from the address “umuthareketi.izmir.bel.tr”. In the "One Rent, One Home" campaign, which brings together citizens who lost their homes in the earthquake and people who want to give rent support or open their empty houses for use, 16 million 400 thousand 690 liras were contributed through "birkirabiryuva.org". With the campaign, 960 people declared that they would support rent and 537 people declared that they would share their houses. The total amount of aid approached 63 million liras. Packaging and loading of humanitarian aid materials from citizens continue in Gaziemir Fair İzmir, Kültürpark Celal Atik Sports Hall and the garden of APİKAM in Çankaya.
