Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu met with Non-Governmental Organizations in Adıyaman. Then, holding a press conference, Karaismailoğlu said that after the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, which was described as the "disaster of the century", search and rescue efforts were carried out in an area the size of Greece.
Providing information on the activities carried out after the disaster, Karaismailoğlu said, “There is a great struggle to return life to normal and fulfill the needs of citizens. We had a difficult time in 19 days. Our search and scanning work under the debris is over. We have removed and continue to remove a significant part of the wreckage in Adıyaman. We made plans for the buildings that needed to be demolished. While the demolition work continues, the transport of the debris to the dump sites continues. We also planned the recycling at the casting site. Starting next week, they will also be on track," he said.

Emphasizing that Adıyaman is one of the provinces most affected by the earthquake, Karaismailoğlu said that while meeting the daily needs of the citizens, they also plan the future days and years from today. Karaismailoğlu stated that they evaluated the areas of the houses to be built in Adıyaman together with the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum.
“We discussed the designed works with non-governmental organizations, headmen and industrialists in Adıyaman. We took their advice. From now on, our planning, location finalization, surveys and planning of living spaces will be carried out with the people of Adıyaman. Adıyaman is an ancient city and has its own unique culture. It is our duty as a state to convey this culture to future generations. We will get through this together.”
Karaismailoğlu stated that the zoning plan will be finalized after the examination of the ground surveys and that the work on this issue continues in the region. Karaismailoğlu said that the plans for the trade and the city center in the city are designed and they will come into effect in a short time.
“Works in the mass housing areas and the rebuilding of the city will be carried out together. The most important issue on our agenda is the start of construction. We are working on the transfer of our citizens living in tent cities to container cities. We will start hosting our guests from tomorrow in our 1800 container area in Altınşehir Mahallesi, west of Adıyaman, and we have finished the infrastructure. We are also working hard on the placement of containers and in line with the needs. In the east of Adıyaman, our infrastructure works for prefabricated and container living spaces continue rapidly. Work on our prefabricated temporary residences has started in the south of our city.”
Karaismailoğlu pointed out that Adıyaman should be revived and the city's economy and mobility should be revived, and emphasized that industrialists and chambers of commerce are important at this point. Karaismailoğlu stated that industrialists and chambers of commerce received their opinions on how to open businesses and said, “Our employees should contribute to the industry of this place together with their families by bringing containers to the organized industrial zones.” said.
