“Rural production should never stop”

Şevket Meriç, Head of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Agricultural Services Department, which carries out the works in Osmaniye, said, “We are facing an indescribable earthquake disaster. But we believe that we will overcome this when we are together, when we demonstrate the power of solidarity. We see the needs in the coordination centers established by our Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in four provinces. But especially rural production needs to continue in Osmaniye. “Radish, peanut, rug will develop with cooperatives”

Noting that there are very valuable products to be purchased from Osmaniye, Şevket Meriç said, “25 percent of Turkey's radish production comes from this region. In addition, peanuts have an incredible place in the domestic market as well as in the world market. The region also has geographically marked rugs. We are on fertile land in every way. We will give all the support we can to make sure that these are evaluated by cooperatives," he said.
