The construction equipment convoy of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which set off after the earthquake, reached Antakya. The convoy, which includes many construction equipment and duty operators from snowplow trucks to repair vehicles, from tankers to vacuum trucks, opened the roads that were closed due to weather conditions, went to the disaster area and started rescue work.

After the earthquake that stifled Turkey, the aid convoy of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality reached Antakya. The construction equipment and operators of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which were sent to the earthquake zone to be used in search and rescue efforts, went to the emergency aid center established in the Antakya Cemetery, under the coordination of AFAD and Hatay Metropolitan Municipality, after the difficult road journey. The teams started search and rescue efforts at the points of need.

Operators and construction equipment in the disaster area

12 lowbed trucks, 2 graders, 2 loaders, 2 wheeled excavators, 5 crawler excavators, 3 service vehicles, 2 snowplows, 10 dump trucks, 2 dump trucks from İZSU, Cemeteries, Science Works and other departments to be assigned to the region to be assigned in search and rescue works. , 2 trailer trucks, 1 mobile veterinary vehicle, 1 mobile repair vehicle, 5 funeral vehicles, 1 multiple morgue, 5 water tankers and 1 vacuum truck were sent. Along with the vehicles, a total of 60 personnel were assigned under the coordination of the chiefs of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Science Affairs.

The roads have been opened, the aid has arrived

Reaching the region by road in 36 hours, the teams continued their work at the same time throughout their journey. Using the Konya-Adana road, where aid is being delivered, the teams carried out road paving, snow plow and salting works in coordination with the General Directorate of Highways on the roads that were closed due to heavy snowfall.
