Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has intensified its works in this direction in the earthquake region where there is great difficulty in meeting the drinking water need. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality İZSU General Directorate has been activated for the infrastructure of Hatay, where drinking water lines have been damaged and water has not been provided for 5 days. Work has been initiated to eliminate the faults in the lines and to operate the pumping stations that were disabled due to power cuts with the help of generators. An expert team of 18 people was sent from Izmir for the infrastructure works to be done. On the other hand, water is distributed in the city by tankers.
Tent area is being expanded
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality teams continue to work in the disaster area from four branches. The tent area set up for earthquake victims in Hatay is also being expanded. A new section is being added across the tent area of 10 people, created in the area where the mobile kitchen, which produces meals for 600 thousand people a day, is located. In the area where a new tent zone for 720 people will be created at the first stage, consolidation work is also being carried out with construction equipment against any aftershocks. While mobile toilets are being installed in the area, families are being placed in tents.
