Has Hatay Airport, whose runway was split in the earthquake, opened, when will it be opened?

In a statement made by the Istanbul Airport operator, İGA, it was reported that the damage on the Hatay Airport runway, which became unusable after the heavy damage it received in the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes and where all flights were stopped, is about to be repaired as a result of the uninterrupted repair works carried out by the teams that quickly moved to the region.

In the statement, it is hoped that Hatay Airport, which is expected to play a vital role in the rapid and effective delivery of the logistics aid sent to the disaster area to the earthquake victims in Hatay and the surrounding provinces, will turn into a living corridor for the region as a result of the successful operation carried out by IGA teams. In this process, where every passing second is critical, the work, which will be completed in a very short period of three days, has now come to an end. As it is known, as a result of the earthquakes that shook the whole region, Hatay Airport was closed to transportation due to the fragmentation and crevices that occurred at 35 different points of the three-kilometer runway. At this point, the works on the priority two-kilometer section of the runway of Hatay Airport were completed as of Sunday, February 12; It is aimed to make the runway ready for operation and to open the runway to flights, providing a much faster and more qualified transportation network to disaster areas.
