Wang Yi, Director of the Office of the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, stated that they are doing their best to ensure peace in Ukraine.

Wang Yi answered journalists' questions about the Ukraine crisis at the Munich Security Conference.

Wang stated that China is not one of those who caused the Ukraine crisis, and it has made great efforts to resolve the crisis.

Underlining that they support the establishment of peace through political dialogue, Wang said that they would not "fuel the fire" in the Ukraine crisis and that they were also opposed to gaining geopolitical interests by taking advantage of the crisis.

“One day after the conflict in Ukraine began, Chinese President Xi Jinping suggested that the conflict be resolved through political means,” Wang Yi said. Russia and Ukraine first made great progress in their peace negotiations. Even the text of the agreement was discussed. Unfortunately, however, the negotiations were later interrupted. Previous efforts were wasted. We do not know the reasons for this. Some powers do not want to see peace and ceasefire. In their eyes, the safety of Ukrainians and the damage done to European countries are of no importance. They have bigger strategic goals.” used the phrases.
