After two earthquakes of 7.7 and 7.6 in Kahramanmaraş, Turkey, search and rescue activities and aid efforts for basic needs continue in the region. The industrialists, who took action from the first moments of the earthquake, increased their capacities to meet the demands for tents and containers, and switched to a 24-hour working system. One of the places where feverish work continued was Ankara Başkent OIZ.

While the work of the aid bridge established between the industrialists and earthquake zones under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and AFAD continues, industrialists who rolled up their sleeves to produce tents and containers for the disaster victims mobilized. Manufacturers increased their capacities to meet the demands and switched to a 24-hour shift system. One of the places where feverish work continued was Ankara Başkent OIZ.

Paysa Prefabrik, one of the companies that increased its capacity to send tents and containers to the region, doubled its daily production by rolling up its sleeves for both tent and container production.

“WE RECEIVE HIGH DEMAND”

Noting that they work uninterruptedly with all their employees, Atakan Yalçınkaya, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said, “As soon as we received the news of the earthquake, we already started to make our preparations. Both in tent production and in container production. Currently, we are receiving very serious demands for both products. We are trying to meet the demands of both the state and the benefactors. Currently, our colleagues are working 7 hours a day, 24 days a week. When earthquakes happened, we invited and brought all our teammates back to the factory, we are constantly trying to increase our team. We are going through a difficult time.” said.

“INSULATED, STOVE CAN BE INSTALLED”

Yalçınkaya stated that they are in constant contact with AFAD. Explaining that he visited the AFAD crisis and coordination center in Ankara, Yalçınkaya said, “Currently, we only produce earthquake tents in the size of 4×6. These tents are insulated, can be set up with a stove, have a chimney, and a family can live comfortably in it. We send them to the regions step by step as they are completed without any delay," he said.

WE ARE IN THE SERVICE OF OUR STATE, OUR NATION

Stating that they deliver at least 1 truck of tents daily, Yalçınkaya said, “This facility works 24 hours a day. As a manufacturer, we are at the service of our state, our nation and the private sector during this earthquake. We want to serve them as quickly and on time as possible. We try to move as fast as we can here. Our suppliers generally try to give their best support in this regard.” he said.

1000 CONTAINERS TO HATAY

From the very first moments of the earthquakes, the industrialists, under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, show all kinds of solidarity to help the earthquake victims in this process. In the aid corridor created by the industrialists, materials and equipment are delivered to the earthquake zone in order of importance. Efforts are also underway to solve housing, one of the most important needs in the region. Konya Chamber of Industry, Konya Chamber of Commerce and Konya Metropolitan Municipality decided to establish a container city of 1000 containers next to Hatay OIZ.

Under the leadership of Ankara Chamber of Industry (ASO) Chairman of the Board of Directors Seyit Ardıç, with the coordination of 40 professional committee presidents, efforts to establish a container living center in the earthquake zone are also continuing.
