Brazil-based company Embraer partners with Air New Zealand's Mission Next Gen Aircraft program

An agreement was signed between Brazil-based Embraer company and New Zealand's aircraft company Air New Zealand for the next generation sustainable aircraft programs. The agreement aims to develop and promote zero-emission aircraft technology in Air New Zealand company aircraft.

Thus, Embraer became a partner of Air New Zealand's Mission Next Gen Aircraft program. As a result of the partnership, Air New Zealand joins Embraer's Energia Advisory Group, which develops zero-emission projects. The two companies will work together on designs for the next generation of sustainable aircraft.

After the agreement, Air New Zealand Sustainability Director Kiri Hannifin made the following statements:

“Mission Next Gen Aircraft aims to accelerate the technology and infrastructure needed to decarbonize our domestic flights by joining forces with the world's leading aircraft developers, inventors and infrastructure providers. We want to be the leader in introducing zero emission aircraft in New Zealand. Having Embraer as one of our long-term partners will increase our shared understanding of zero-emission aircraft technology as it evolves and give them confidence that they are developing a suitable product for us.”

Heart Aerospace joined Air New Zealand's Mission Next Gen Aircraft program

Sweden-based Heart Aerospace recently joined Air New Zealand's Mission Next Gen Aircraft program. Through the partnership, Heart Aerospace will develop an electric regional airliner together with Air New Zealand.

Anders Forslund, CEO of Heart Aerospace, made the following statements after the partnership:

“Air New Zealand is truly pioneering in its efforts to reduce emissions from air travel, and we are impressed with the care they have taken in approaching this challenge. We could not be more proud to have been chosen as a long-term strategic partner on their journey to net zero. At Heart Aerospace, we say the real innovation is to achieve this, and together we will.”
