Liu Shaobin, the Chinese Ambassador to Ankara, announced that China is ready to provide assistance for the post-earthquake reconstruction in Turkey.

Liu Shaobin made a special statement to the CMG reporter about the work of the Chinese search and rescue teams and the situation of the Chinese living in the earthquake zones.

Liu Shaobin pointed out that after the severe earthquake in Turkey, the Chinese government started the emergency humanitarian aid mechanism at the first moment, provided 40 million yuan aid to Turkey and sent search and rescue teams to the earthquake areas.

Liu Shaobin said that as of February 12, the first group of aid materials from the Chinese government had been delivered to Turkey, adding that there were more than 100 tons of blankets and tents that earthquake victims needed most, and that a group of health equipment would be delivered to Turkey in a short time.

Liu Shaobin informed that so far, Chinese search and rescue teams have rescued more than 30 people alive, either independently or in collaboration with other teams. Liu Shaobin stated that with the coordination of the embassy, ​​three Chinese citizens who were trapped under the rubble were rescued alive in Hatay, and that no information regarding the death or injury of another Chinese citizen has been received so far.

Pointing out that the Turkish government announced that they will start reconstruction after the earthquake, Liu Shaobin said that the Turkish people on the Chinese side will overcome the earthquakes as early as possible and rebuild their homes. Ambassador Liu stated that China is ready to provide any assistance it can to the reconstruction after the earthquake in Turkey.
