While researches show that around two out of 5 people worldwide do not pay license fees for software, Turkey is the 14th country in which pirated software is used the most. With the digitization of business processes, office programs and design software have become indispensable for every business computer, while the use of pirated software has become a critical problem. Research conducted by Revenera Compliance Intelligence found that nearly two out of five people (5 percent) worldwide do not pay for software licenses. On the other hand, Turkey became the 37th country in the world ranking with the most pirated software usage.
Its cost exceeded 46 billion dollars
Although technology companies or platforms that develop software on a corporate scale developed subscription models, the use of pirated software could not be prevented. It was determined that the problem of not paying licenses to software on a global scale caused a cost of 46,3 billion dollars. The 5 countries with the most pirated software in the world were listed as China, Russia, USA, India and Germany.

This can lead to users having their personal information and passwords stolen. Infected codes added to plugins and themes of content management systems such as WordPress can turn websites into malicious sites. In particular, businesses can incur larger costs in this way, which they prefer to avoid paying monthly license fees. Moreover, individuals and institutions can even be sentenced to prison under the Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works and the Turkish Commercial Code.
