In Kahramanmaraş, the epicenter of the earthquake, 2.755 February Stadium Tent City, where 12 earthquake victims were sheltered, was created by taking into account the needs of all our citizens staying in the region.

In the tent city, where there is a small mosque, library, health units and playgrounds for children, a market and clothing store was created to meet the food and clothing needs of earthquake victims.

12 February Stadium Tent City Manager Yahya Altun stated that tent cities were established right after the earthquake and all the needs of the earthquake victims in the region were met.

Noting that they delivered the donations to our citizens in need through food markets and apparel stores, Altun said, “Currently, we have a food market. People can buy the product they want from the shelves, however they want. We distribute the incoming aids in these food markets. We also give the dresses in our clothing store.” said.

Priority in Children

Stating that there are 22 tent cities in the center of Kahramanmaraş, Altun said that extra-provincial transfer offices have also been established in tent cities for our citizens who want to go to other provinces.

Stating that children who have been traumatized by the earthquake are their priority, Altun said, “There are people who have lost their relatives. We also have children who are afraid of the severity of the earthquake. They have to get through this. First of all, people have to be mentally correct. That's why we called a psychosocial team. We are currently trying to alleviate the traces of the earthquake with activities in the children's activity area.” used the phrases.

Ali Arabacı, whose houses were damaged in the earthquake, stated that their needs were met in the tent city and they were grateful for this day.

Explaining that he fell inside the house during the earthquake and got up with difficulty, Arabacı said, “We came to the tent. This is how life goes on. I don't know what will be the end. It is God's business.” said.

Zeliha Arabacı said that they lost 4 relatives in the earthquake and that they came to the tent city because they could not enter the house out of fear.
