The establishment of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Hospital continues day and night in Defne district of Hatay, which is one of the places most affected by the two major earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş and then caught by a 6,4 earthquake. 54 BED METROPOLITAN HOSPITAL
The 54-bed hospital to be built in the Defne district of Hatay is being built on an area of 6500 m2. The hospital is planned to serve 250.000 people a year, together with the emergency department. In the hospital, 4 main branches and dentistry services will be provided continuously. In the field hospital, where general surgery, internal medicine, pediatric, obstetrics and dental outpatient services will be provided, neurology, psychiatry, physical therapy, eye and orthopedic outpatient services will also be available on certain days of the week. The Ministry of Health, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, MUSIAD Karlsruhe, MUSIAD Paris will take charge during the installation and commissioning of the project. The teams of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, consisting of ISU, A Team, Transportation, Building Control and Science Works, continue their work on drinking water, sewerage, infrastructure, mechanical, electrical and sanitary installations day and night.
CONTAINER CITY IS ESTABLISHED
Kocaeli Metropolitan Mayor Tahir Büyükakın, who moved to Defne district of Hatay with the district mayors right after the earthquake and took office, closely follows the works of tent city, container city and hospital where earthquake survivors will stay. Giving the information that a container city will be created on an area of 45 decares in the front of the hospital, President Büyükakın said, “There will be operating rooms and medical branches in Kocaeli Metropolitan Hospital. Doctors will serve in the 40-container section, while the other 40 containers will be the other parts of the hospital. A city of 35 containers will be built inside the other 350-decare area. Our infrastructure works in the container city continue. The shipping and installation of the hospital's containers has also started. In the container city, there will be a living room, kitchen, bathroom and room in 21 m2 containers,'' he said.
