Trabzon-Cyprus Flights Are Very Valuable

Direct flights from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to Trabzon have resumed. Welcoming the delegation from Northern Cyprus to Trabzon, Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Atilla Ataman said, “We have brothers in Northern Cyprus. We also go to our brothers' houses as guests from time to time. In this sense, Trabzon-Cyprus flights are very valuable,” he said.

Under the leadership of Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu, direct flights from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus to Trabzon on Mondays and Fridays were welcomed by everyone. Anadolu Jet's plane, which took off from Ercan Airport, landed at Trabzon Airport with a direct flight. Deputy Mayor of Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Atilla Ataman and TRNC Trabzon Consul Erek Çağatay welcomed the members of the press and guests on board.

Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Atilla Ataman, who met with the delegation from Cyprus to Trabzon, said, “This story started with a phone call from our Minister of Transport and Infrastructure. 'Members of the press, whom I love very much from Cyprus, will come to Trabzon. Will you meet them? We said head to head. But in the next part of this business, the state stepped in. IF TURKEY IS STRONG

Expressing that no one in the world has heard that Cyprus should be connected to Turkey, Ataman said, “We talked about 3 states just a few days ago. Azerbaijan, Cyprus and Turkey. We are people in the struggle for Cyprus to become a state. The Turkish Cypriot is the owner of the State of Cyprus. Let Cyprus be a state. That's our opinion. Of course, this late Rauf Denktaş, followed by Mehmet Ali Talat, and then Ersin Tatar, received a very serious response together with our President. In other words, the Cyprus case will naturally put gun power behind all political organizations in the world. Why does the European Union succeed? Because there is no European Union Army. But NATO has a gun behind it. As Turkey gets stronger, as Turkey gets stronger in its region, as it gets stronger, Cyprus gets comfortable. As long as Cyprus is there, Turkey will be comfortable. So this is the Eastern Mediterranean, the Blue Homeland, natural gas, gas reserves, these are new issues. Without these, most of the places in Trabzon in the 1970s were called Girne Restaurant, Cyprus Park, Nicosia Coffee House. In other words, we have evolved from being a nation that lost land with the 1974 Peace Operation, to a nation that owns its land. I think that this has received a very serious response. As of the point we have reached today, together with a strong Turkey, tomorrow and the next day, it may see a European Union member Cyprus like its immediate neighbor. As long as Turkey is strong. Indicating that it is called 'Cub Homeland' as it is customary in Anatolia, Deputy Chairman Ataman said, “We have brothers and sisters there. Here, too, there is a country that belongs to you, where you have brothers, sisters and friends, and there is another very special place in it. That place is Trabzon. Trabzon-Cyprus flights are very valuable in this sense. Trabzon is a very special place. I also think that the immigrants from Trabzon are not a coincidence. It was a heart move. Those people did not go there to live happily that day. There is death, war can break out again at any moment. Being able to go to Cyprus with your children is an important thing. CONSOLE ÇAĞATAY THANKS TO THOSE WHO ATTENDED

TRNC Trabzon Consul Erek Çağatay also stated that direct flights to Trabzon started twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, and said that this would have a positive impact on tourism, economy and transportation. Expressing that there is a very serious request and demand for the reciprocal flights between TRNC and Trabzon to start, Çağatay thanked everyone who contributed to the start of the flights. Çağatay also stated that the people of Trabzon attach great importance to the Turkish Cypriot people and added that with the start of direct flights, transportation has become easier both financially and morally.
