IMM President Ekrem İmamoğluopened its third Kent Restaurant in Istanbul in Sultanbeyli. İmamoğlu, who made the first service himself, shared the information that 170 thousand citizens have benefited from Fatih Çapa and Bağcılar City Restaurants, which they opened before. Stating that they are planning to open a total of 9 City Restaurants, İmamoğlu said, "But if there is a need, we will also look at what we can do more." In Kent Restaurants, where only female employees are employed, 4 kinds of meals are offered to customers for 29 TL.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) moved the City Restaurants, which operate for students and low-income citizens, to Sultanbeyli after Fatih Çapa and Bağcılar. The third of the Kent Restaurants was put into service in Sultanbeyli Mehmet Akif Neighborhood. IMM President, who opened the third address Ekrem İmamoğlu; He also made the first service of the menu consisting of soup, forest kebab, pasta, salad, water and bread with his hands. After the food distribution, İmamoğlu took his own table d'oet and ate lunch among the students and citizens, and made his evaluations on the subject at the dinner table. Stating that they have opened 3 City Restaurants so far, İmamoğlu said, “6 of them are on the way. Preparations are underway. Places were taken. So far, 170 people have benefited from two points (Fatih Çapa and Bağcılar). This is an important number. As a result, we offer this to our people at a certain fixed price. And we do this with real dedication. But it's a need. I see and hear that students especially need it. Contributing to this makes us very happy.”

“SAVOID FROM GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS LIKE US”

Pointing out that there is an important livelihood problem in Turkey, İmamoğlu said, “Because I know that this affects the young people a lot, the main sacrifice in this regard falls on important institutions of our state like us. At this point, we take all the necessary courage and decisions and walk the road at Kent Restaurant. Every day, almost whatever its capacity is, the food that comes ends there. It even ends early between normal opening hours. This is actually a situation that shows the reality of how much our people need such an area.” Stating that they are planning to open a total of 9 City Restaurants, İmamoğlu said, “But if there is a need, we will also look at what we can do more. Of course, there is no limit, no constraint. Students come but not retirees; there is no such thing. Retirees are coming as well as working workers. But our target audience is students in the first place. In the second place, we are trying to offer such an opportunity to our workers, especially to our workers who do not have much income in certain places.”

“WE HAVE LUNCH COST OF 70 TL DAILY, 280 TL WEEKLY”

Sharing the same table with İmamoğlu, Maltepe University Psychology Department senior student Aleyna Akay also shared her experiences, saying, “Even though I have a full scholarship, we have a daily meal cost of 70 liras. Canteens do not give a price below this. So it's something we really need. I go to school 4 days a week. Eating lunch is a must. From 70 liras, it becomes 280 liras per week”. İmamoğlu told Akay, “You are right and young people should not suffer from this. But as I said; We also want to increase the number of For a student, for example, such a menu is a nice menu. It is nutritious with its bread and water. We are already paying close attention to it. We prepare them in our reliable, self-controlled kitchens. We want to protect their wages as much as possible and give this contribution to our people in these difficult times. We want all of our people to become rich. Then we sell other things here. We're not closing this place. We prepare other things accordingly. Our aim; it is not to enlarge the gaps, but to reduce them and eliminate inequalities as much as possible. This is our fundamental journey”.

ONLY WOMEN WORK

The menus of Kent Restaurants, where only women are employed, are carefully prepared by experienced chefs in the hygienic kitchens of the IMM Logistics Support Center. Sultanbeyli Kent Lokantası has the capacity to host 10 guests at the same time, with a staff of 80. In Kent Restaurants, 4 kinds of meals are sold for 29 TL, soft drinks for 5.5 TL, sweets for 7 TL and water for 1 TL.
