Izmir Metropolitan Municipality organized a solidarity concert at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center to support the treatment of hereditary muscle disease SMA patients. The income of the concert, in which Feridun Düzağaç performed, will be used for the treatment of SMA patients.
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality hosted a solidarity concert with Feridun Düzağaç at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center to raise awareness about the hereditary muscle disease Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and to support the treatment of SMA patients living in İzmir. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu and İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Ertuğrul Tugay also attended the concert. The income of the event, in which 530 people bought tickets, will be donated for the treatment of SMA patients in Izmir.
Özuslu: “We should do good things hand in hand”
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu said, “The example of solidarity you show for our children with SMA shows that İzmir is the city where the socialist and coexistence culture is at the highest level. Everyone should have equal and fair access to health services. Health is our most important right. Our President Tunç Soyer 'Another Life Is Possible,' he says. To make this possible, we must all do good things together.” Mustafa Özuslu gave an olive sapling symbolizing peace to Feridun Düzağaç.
“I bow respectfully”
Feridun Düzağaç, on the other hand, stated that in the age of technology and communication, bad examples were exposed in the opposite direction and said, "I bow before you with respect because you are on the side of kindness and solidarity."
Children with SMA and those who want to help were brought together
Since the cost of gene therapy for SMA patients is very high, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality brought together children with SMA who are waiting for treatment and those who want to help them, with a solidarity campaign on bizizmir.com in July, saying "Be Hope, Be Life".
