The Seismological Monitoring and Earthquake Training Center, which provides service in the SEKA Cultural Area within the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, hosted its guests from outside the city. Students from Zonguldak and Sakarya received hands-on training at the center on what to do in the event of an earthquake.

The Seismological Monitoring and Earthquake Training Center affiliated to the Soil Earthquake Investigation Branch of the Department of Zoning and Urbanization continues to provide trainings to raise awareness of earthquakes and remind them of what to do in case of an earthquake. After the Düzce earthquake that took place on November 23, visitors from outside of Kocaeli are also informed about all issues related to the earthquake, especially the collapse-trap-grab training in the center.
KOCAELİ EARTHQUAKE OF 7.4 VIOLENCE
The center, which hosted student groups from Zonguldak and Sakarya, gave practical training to the participants on raising earthquake awareness. First, the students were told how an earthquake resistant building should be. Detailed information was given about the preparation of the interior of the house for the earthquake, the moment of the earthquake and what to do after the earthquake. Afterwards, the students participating in the training were given a simulation to experience the 7.2 magnitude Düzce earthquake and 7.4 magnitude Kocaeli earthquake. School staff and students, who expressed their satisfaction after the training, stated that such a system should be in all provinces that have to live with the reality of earthquakes. Earthquake training booklet and participation certificate were given to the participants.
