AKUT Search and Rescue Association went into operation to respond to the Urla/Çesme and Datça forest fires that started on 13 July 2022 and are still continuing.

AKUT Marmaris team, which went into operation to respond to the forest fire that started in Datça Mesudiye neighborhood, followed by AKUT Fethiye and AKUT Kuşadası teams went to the region to support the fire fighting efforts in Datça.

While the AKUT Peninsula team continues to support the fire-fighting efforts in Urla, our AKUT Izmir team was involved in the operation to take part in the field.

Other AKUT teams, located near these two areas where the fires continue, are standing by at the operation centers in order to respond to possible support calls without delay.

The fire in Datça was very scattered; It was reported that the extinguished places flared up again due to the lack of cooling, and great efforts were made to prevent the fire from reaching Mesudiye. It is also among the information that the road connecting Palamutbükü/Knidos to Datça is closed to traffic.

The Urla/Çeşme forest fire reached the settlements in the Ovacık region and the sites in this region began to be evacuated.
