AYVALIK'S CHICKEN ISLAND WILL ADD VALUE TO THE CITY AS A BRAND NEW CULTURE AREA

Expert architects, designers, art and culture managers work together for the Chicken Island, which covers a total of 22.000 square meters. The main goal of the project is to develop the region economically and culturally by adding brand value to the city. Within the scope of the works, reconstruction activities are carried out to restore the 450-year-old Ay Yoannu Tou Prodromou Monastery, located in the middle of the island, to the region as a cultural heritage value, in accordance with its original form. The Monastery and Historical Stone Pier projects, of which all official and legal approvals have been obtained for the applications on the island, have been prepared in the light of the data obtained from the archives and as a result of long-term land and underwater studies meticulously carried out by scientists. Waiting.

All activities carried out on Chicken Island, which is owned by Dikran Masis, are carried out on a legal basis and in accordance with nature park protection criteria. The island, which already has a barren structure, will be brought into harmony with the nature of Ayvalık with greening works. The area surrounding the monastery has the status of a Qualified Conservation Area and will be prepared in accordance with the functions and activities permitted by law.

TAVUK ISLAND WILL DEVELOP THE REGION WITH CULTURE AND ART, AND THERE WILL NOT BE A HOTEL OR HOUSING IN A SINGLE SQUARE METER.

Not a single square meter of Chicken Island will be used as a hotel or residence. A total area of ​​5.000 square meters, some of which will be in the closed areas inside the Monastery and some in the open areas, will be entirely devoted to culture and arts. On the island, which is planned to be open for 6 months of the year, activities and activities in the fields of visual arts and performing arts will continue in these areas reserved for culture and arts. Culture and arts event programming will be held in accordance with the principle of preserving and developing cultural diversity, which forms the basis of the cultural management approach of Chicken Island. In addition to the works of painters and sculptors, concerts in different musical genres, dance and theater performances, Chicken Island will also host activities such as workshops, conversations and workshops as a modern culture and art meeting point.

The beach area, which will be located in a separate area on Chicken Island, will increase the opportunity to swim in the sea, which is currently very limited in Cunda. In addition to the beach area, there will be various restaurants, cafes and viewing terraces on the island, as well as tent areas where the tradesmen of the region can rent food and beverage, craft works and souvenirs. In addition to the new employment opportunities created on Chicken Island with the project, the brand value that the Island will create will lead to an increase in the incomes of all Ayvalık tradesmen. Transition to Chicken Island will be provided by Ayvalık and Cunda tour boats.
