Konya Metropolitan Municipality provided container support to fishermen from Beyşehir in order to develop and expand fisheries. The fish caught with the support will be kept in more modern and hygienic conditions and will be offered to domestic and foreign markets without incurring financial losses.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality put into service the containers for fishermen in order to support fishing activities in Beyşehir Lake, Turkey's largest freshwater lake.
Within the scope of the work carried out in order to prevent 350 fishermen who are members of the Beyşehir Fisheries Cooperative, to transport the fish they catch to the primitive barracks in various parts of the lake and to prevent them from purchasing under unsanitary conditions; 6 containers containing offices, warehouses, sinks and toilets were delivered to fishermen who make their living by fishing for fishery products to be used as fishermen's shelters.
Their containers, which provide an environment where fishermen can work more comfortably without being affected by adverse weather conditions, are located in Beysehir Lake; It was placed in Kuşluca, Çiftlik, Gölkaşı and Yeşildağ piers and Gölyaka ports. Beyşehir Fisheries Cooperative President Hasan Kurt stated that they are very pleased with the fishermen's shelters provided to them and thanked the Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay.
