Making statements at the Railway-İş Union Consultation Meeting, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said that they have put into service world-class projects in urban rail systems as well as intercity freight and passenger transportation.

Karaismailoğlu made the following assessments: “29 million passengers have passed through Marmaray, which we put into service on October 2013, 600. In addition, 812 kilometers of the 312 kilometers of urban rail system in operation throughout the country was built by our Ministry. Our rail system infrastructure works are also continuing intensively. 37,5 percent on the 97 kilometers long Istanbul Airport Eyüp-Kağıthane-Gayrettepe Metro line; 7,4 percent on the 95 kilometer Pendik-Tavşantepe-Sabiha Gökçen Metro Line; 4 percent on Ankara AKM (M92)-Gar-Kızılay metro line; 6,2 percent on the 95-kilometer Başakşehir-Pine and Sakura Hospital-Kayaşehir Metro line; 31,4 kilometers long, Küçükçekmece (Halkalı)-80 percent in Başakşehir-Arnavutköy-Istanbul Airport Metro line; 8,4 percent on the 67-kilometer Bakırköy (IDO)-Bahçelievler-Güngören-Bağcılar (Kirazlı) metro line; 15,4 percent on the 41-kilometer Kocaeli-Darica Sahil-Gebze OSB Metro Line; 3,1 percent on the 9 kilometer Kocaeli City Hospital Tram Line; 6,7 percent on the 60 kilometer Kayseri Anafartalar - City Hospital - Mobilyakent Tram Line; We have reached the level of 6 percent progress in the 5-kilometer Bursa Emek-YHT-Şehir Hospital Light Rail System Line. In addition, our local rate of production of vehicles that will work on our urban rail system lines is 60 percent. We aim to increase this rate to 2023 percent in 80.”
