Studies show that one out of every 3 people in Turkey consumes 1 cup of coffee a day, and one out of every 10 people consumes more than 5 cups of coffee a day. The increase in coffee consumption during the pandemic process has also increased the interest in unusual coffees. While coffee workshops have turned into laboratories, the number of people who prefer unusual flavors has also grown. Unusual recipes that meet different flavors such as cinnamon, tahini, strawberry, butter and coconut in the same cup offer an extraordinary experience to coffee lovers.

While the pandemic radically changed coffee consumption habits, it added new ones among coffee lovers. Findings from the Coffee Consumption Survey show that one out of every three people in Turkey consumes 3 cup of coffee per day, and one out of every 1 people consumes more than 10 cups of coffee per day. According to the research study, in which it was determined that the increase in coffee consumption during the pandemic process was over 5%, 40% of those who had never consumed coffee before joined the coffee enthusiasts with the epidemic. Women hold the lead among coffee lovers with 82%.

Stating that the increase in coffee consumption has increased the tendency towards unusual coffee flavors, Undik Kahveler Brand Director Ahmet Ayan said, “The pandemic has brought even those who do not approach coffee warmly among coffee lovers. With the increase in the awareness of healthy living, the interest in mixtures has increased. Different flavors such as cinnamon, which creates a protective shield against infections, tahini that strengthens the immune system, butter that repairs the body, and coconut oil that supports heart health, met with coffee in the same cup and became indispensable for coffee lovers.

Rising health perception brought different approaches to coffee

Stating that unusual flavors bring different approaches to coffee consumption, Ahmet Ayan said, “Research shows that when we look at the proportion of people who feel healthy, the increasing perception of health puts Turkey in the 15th rank in the world. The rising perception of health has created the version of the adage “A cup of coffee has forty years of memory”, “A cup of coffee has unexpected benefits”. We made the coffee experience extraordinary with our unique coffee varieties that we developed with very special formulas at the "Nondik Kahveler Atölyesi", Turkey's first fusion beverage kitchen. We have become one of the pioneers of the fusion beverage approach in Turkey with our blends developed with different fruit, spice and extract coffees. We respond to different searches in coffee with our very special recipes. For example, we meet the daily energy needs with our butter or protein milk latte formula, or we strengthen the immune system by combining strawberries and cinnamon with coffee.

Turkey's coffee lab

Noting that its 2 branches in Istanbul and Ankara operate almost like a coffee laboratory, Undik Kahveler Brand Director Ahmet Ayan said, “We reinforced our fusion kitchen approach with 29 different coffees developed by our own team and 16 different unusual flavors without coffee. A team of 6 baristas and gastronomy experts work in our workshops, where jazz music accompanies the unusual flavors we offer. In our branches, where we bring together real coffee lovers and those who want to go on different taste journeys, we also host those who are bored of working at home. Thanks to its strong internet infrastructure, "No Dik Kahveler Workshops" bring together those who are looking for a pleasant and productive working environment.
