Another 30 Million TL Support to Sports Clubs in Izmir

Despite the harsh conditions brought by the pandemic, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, which has given 28 million TL support to professional clubs under the umbrella of İzmir Sports Clubs Association Foundation, in return for advertisements for the promotion of İzmir in the last two years, will contribute another 30 million TL in the new period. President Soyer said, "It is our duty to protect our clubs, which are the most important historical heritages of our city."

Providing 28 million TL support to professional clubs under the umbrella of İzmir Sports Clubs Association Foundation (İZVAK) for the promotion of the city, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality decided to contribute an additional 30 million TL to these clubs in the new period.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor attended the meeting where the decision was shared. Tunç Soyer, Deputy Secretary General Ertuğrul Tugay, Head of Youth and Sports Services Department Hakan Orhunbilge, İZVAK President Ali Erten, Göztepe and İZVAK Deputy President Talat Papatya, İZVAK Vice President Fatih Tanfer, Altay President Özgür Ekmekçioğlu, Altınordu President Seyit Mehmet Özkan, Menemenspor Honorary President Tahir Şahin, Bucaspor1928 Vice President Mehmet Sevinç, Karşıyaka President Turgay Büyükkarcı, Deputy Mayor of Bergama Belediyespor Şerif Topal and President of İzmirspor Nedim Topaloğlu attended.

Izmir clubs are important for the promotion of the city

Underlining that Izmir clubs have undertaken an important mission in the promotion of the city in the last two seasons, the President Tunç Soyer “I attach great importance to the mission of making İzmir a sports and youth city not only for our country but also for Europe. We took a route with the international, national and local organizations we organized, especially in Maratonİzmir. İzmir has now become a center especially for beach and water sports. We are implementing projects that reveal the difference of İzmir not only in sports but also in agriculture, art and culture one by one. Now, we will work together with İZVAK, our clubs and all relevant institutions and NGOs operating in İzmir to determine the sports policy of our city. We will continue to increase our support for our amateur sports clubs, which are the capillaries of sports," he said.
