“Dutch and Turkish artists will come together”

After the visit, ArtsMap Micro Support Fund was launched at Mustafa Necati Cultural Center. Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Marjanne de Kwaasteniet said, “ArtsMap is a digital platform that was established about a year ago. Its aim is to bring together Dutch and Turkish artists. Minister Tunç Soyergave three main themes: gender equality, climate crisis and resilient cities. We will make our call this year with the theme of gender.”

“İzmir's art climate illuminates our future”

Kadir Efe Oruç, Head of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Culture and Art Department, gave information about İzmir Art, which was implemented a year ago by the Metropolitan Municipality. Stating that they aim to spread art to all segments of İzmir, Oruç said, “İzmir is a city that shines a light on our country with its cultural and artistic productions. The main reason for this is that it is an ancient city intertwined with art, thinking, discussing, and seeing the future from this window. We think that the ArtsMap project will further nourish the cultural structure in İzmir.”

The launch continued with the performance organized by the Dutch performance group Zwermers in partnership with performance artists from Istanbul.
