The first half of the Institute Istanbul İSMEK's 2021-2022 training period has been completed. 4 thousand 22 Istanbul residents attended the trainings given in 103 branches and 511 fields all over the city. University graduates showed the highest interest among the participants who wanted to improve their professional and personal skills. University graduates, who make up two-thirds of the students, received training in informatics and foreign languages.
At the beginning of the 2021-2022 education period of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), the first term at the Institute Istanbul İSMEK, whose content was enriched in employment, technology and digital processes, came to an end. 103 thousand 511 Istanbul residents who wanted to acquire a profession, improve their professional skills or improve their artistic abilities received training from the Institute Istanbul İSMEK. In the trainings, where 76,92 percent of the participants were women and 23,08 percent were men, the programs focused on employment support saw the highest interest with 74,51 percent.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES AT THE FIRST RANK
The people of Istanbul showed the most interest in the trainings in the field of "Information Technologies". The trainings attended by 64 thousand 692 people were followed by “Language Trainings” with 30 thousand 350 participants. “Graphic and Technical Design” and “Fashion Design and Textile Technology” fields were also among the other preferred fields. 22 thousand 536 people received training in “Graphic and Technical Design” and 21 thousand 671 people received training in Fashion Design and Textile Technology.
While the most demanded program among language trainings was "English" with 14 participants, 727 thousand 5 in "Diction" in the field of Personal Development and "Computer Management" in the field of Information Technologies, 501 Istanbul residents received training.
75 PERCENT OF PARTICIPANTS HAVE VOCATIONAL EDUCATION
One of the innovations of Enstitü Istanbul İSMEK was to increase the training given to those who want to have a profession or to improve themselves professionally. Students in the 16-40 age group who want to have a profession or improve themselves with new knowledge and skills made up 75,13 percent of the participants.
FROM THE HIGHEST INTEREST UNIVERSITY GRADUATES
University graduates showed the highest interest in the first semester education at the Institute Istanbul İSMEK. 68.17 percent of the Enstitü Istanbul İSMEK participants who wanted to get a new vocational education, improve themselves in a professional field or learn new things for their personal development were university graduates. 23.19 percent of those receiving education were high school, 8.01 percent were primary school students and 0.64 percent were literate students.
GREAT ATTENTION TO DISTANCE EDUCATION
In the new education period, the interest in Distance Education Center trainings, which showed great interest to the people of Istanbul, who said lifelong learning, during the pandemic period when face-to-face training was interrupted, was great. In the first half of the education period, 107 thousand 126 people applied to the Distance Education Center, which opened registrations for a total of 280 programs. In the Extending Training Center, where 88 thousand 19 people were trained, informatics trainings such as Using Excel, Using Basic Office Programs, Photoshop, Algorithm and Programming Fundamentals, Introduction to C# Programming were the most preferred trainings.
REGISTRATION CONTINUES
Institute Istanbul İSMEK will continue its education in 7 programs in the new period that will start as of February 2022, 633. Registration continues for the trainings that will continue at UZEM as well as 141 training centers.
