According to the news of Ict media, after the rise in the dollar exchange rate, food and fuel prices increased on top of the hike. A new one is added to the price hikes, including the July 15 Martyrs and Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges.
According to some sources, it is stated that the 15 July Martyrs and Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges operated by the General Directorate of Highways (KGM) and the highways operated by the state will increase by 25 percent.
According to the communiqué of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, there was an increase of 2022 percent in taxes, fees and penalties in 36.2. With a decision published in the Official Gazette last week, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has the authority to reduce or increase tax, fee and penalty rates by 50 percent, made a 11.20 percent discount from the increase to be made next year. The revaluation rate of the Motor Vehicles Tax (MTV) was reduced from 36.20 percent to 25 percent. In 2022, the MTV hike will be applied as 25 percent.
After the increase in MTV, eyes turned to other goods and services offered by the public. Chief among these are the bridges and highways operated by the state.
KGM operates the 15 July Martyrs and Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges, which are used by thousands of vehicles every day in Istanbul. The car toll on the bridges in question is 13 TL and 25 kuruş.
It is considered as a high probability that an increase of 15 percent will be made in January for the 25 July Martyrs and Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges and the highways operated by the state. Noting that no clear decision has been made on this issue yet, the sources said, "An increase in this direction can be expected."
If a 25 percent increase is made in bridge fees, the toll fee for the 15 July Martyrs and Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges will exceed 16 TL.
