Preparing for the 2022 Winter Olympics to be held next year, China has designed new trams to be used during the event. These new trams, developed by the Sinobo Group, will provide transportation services to the visitors coming for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. The tram in question will be put into service at the touristic Taizicheng facility located in Chongli district in Zhangjiakou, North China province Hebei, and will be put into operation in the next two months and will operate regularly from December.
About 200 kilometers northwest of Beijing, Chongli will host most of the ski races that will take place at the upcoming Olympic games. The Taizicheng facility is located in the central area of Chongli's racing district. High-speed trains departing from Taizicheng Station, which is very close to the facility, can take passengers to Beijing in about 50 minutes. The trams to be transferred will provide transportation to some Olympic institutions such as medal ceremonies, shopping streets, an international exhibition center and hotels.
The tram line, which is 1,6 kilometers in length, is designed for short distances between different units of the Olympic facility. The route passes through important places and the tram stops there. There are six stations on the tram rail line in the first phase of the project; It is envisaged that others will be created later.
Three trams will start trial operation from December. Each of them is 27 meters long and 2,65 meters wide. Each of them has 48 passenger seats and ski equipment storage. The trams, on the other hand, are designed to travel at speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour and carry a total of 150 passengers, according to the Sinobo Group.
