India Mumbai Monorail tested

Test runs on the 2,2 km section of India Wadala - Bhakti Park monorail line started on 18 February. The 8 ∙ 2 km Chembur section 1, which is the entire line, is planned to be completed in August and put into service in November.

Scomi Engineering will supply 15 four-car train sets as part of its responsibility arising from the Larsen & Toubro subsidiary. According to the information obtained from Scomi, each train has a capacity of 600 passengers, thus enabling 300 people to travel per day.

A test drive was carried out by Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Administration on 26 February 2010 for the monorail, which is planned to open in 2011.

The second part of the line, Circle - Wadala, is planned to be opened in 2013.
