Union of Turkish World Municipalities Gathered in Istanbul

The Union of Turkish World Municipalities (TDBB) Board of Directors Meeting was held in Istanbul under the chairmanship of the Union President and Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay.

Speaking at the TDBB Board of Directors Meeting held at the Mosaic Museum, hosted by Zeytinburnu Municipality, Mayor Altay expressed his wishes to get well soon to all the people of the Turkish world affected by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Kyrgyzstan, the epicenter of which was the Kyzyl-Su Uyghur Xinjiang Autonomous Region, and as TDBB, he extended his wishes to get well soon. He said they were ready to provide support.

Sharing his sadness at the deterioration of conditions in Gaza in his speech, Mayor Altay said, “We hope that this massacre, for which the whole world is silent, will end as soon as possible. Even if everyone remains silent, we will continue to express. Israel continues its oppression by increasing day by day. We are living in a period where children and civilians are especially targeted, in a process that has turned into a genocide. Moreover, the attacks were not just military attacks. In particular, the fact that humanitarian aid activities are not allowed to enter the Gaza region creates serious problems in terms of access to food and water for children, women and civilians living there. We hope that this oppression will end as soon as possible, that the whole world will take the initiative to stop the operation and deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. What happened in Gaza once again demonstrated the necessity of establishing a new world order, where all international institutions in the world have ceased to function. In the words of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, 'a just world is possible' and 'the world is bigger than five' and we, as the Union of Turkish World Municipalities, express these regarding the tragedy in Gaza on behalf of 30 municipalities from 1.200 countries. We are always with our brothers. "Hopefully, this oppression will end as soon as possible, and I would like to express once again that we are ready to convey the experience of TDBB, especially regarding the reconstruction of Gaza, and to take the initiative so that the people living there can live in a peaceful and comfortable environment again."

“I HOPE THAT THE PROTOCOL WILL OPEN A NEW PAGE FOR OUR COUNTRIES AND LOCAL GOVERNMENTS”

Noting that, as the Union of Turkish World Municipalities, they signed a cooperation protocol between the Mahallabay Labor and Entrepreneurship Development Agency of the Ministry of Labor and Poverty Alleviation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mayor Altay continued: "Especially the good dialogues that have developed between Uzbekistan and our President and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan recently, all units It created new areas of cooperation and business opportunities between them. We, as TDBB, express on every occasion that we are ready to make every effort and effort to ensure that Turkey and the municipal experience in our region make the lives of our brothers in Uzbekistan easier. I hope that this protocol we signed will open a new page for our countries and local governments. Hopefully, we want to visit Uzbekistan together after the local elections. Improving our relations with Uzbekistan, one of the most important countries in our heartland, is one of our important agendas. “I hope that our cooperation protocol will be beneficial.”
