The construction of the 660-meter-long New Kömürhan Bridge and Connection Tunnel, which is strategically located on the roads connecting the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions with the Central Anatolia and the Mediterranean regions, has been completed.

Öznur Çalık, AKP Central Decision Board Member and Malatya Deputy, said the "New Kömürhan Bridge Connection Tunnel", which was started to be built on Karakaya Dam Lake in 2014, in order to ensure the integrity of the divided road between Malatya and Elazığ provinces and to ensure a more comfortable and safe transportation by the General Directorate of Highways. and Road Construction Project ”has come to an end and that it will be opened in the coming days.

Deputy Çalık stated that the 660-meter-long and 23-meter-wide modern New Kömürhan Bridge was built entirely with domestic technology, local engineering and workforce, and that it ranks 380th in its field in the world with its single pylon and 4 meters middle span as a reverse-y type tower. expressed.

Çalık stated that with the opening of the "New Kömürhan Bridge Connection Tunnel and Road", the existing road will be shortened by approximately 1 kilometer, saving time and fuel and contributing to the economy, and facilitating transportation to tourism and trade centers with the opportunity of fast and safe traffic flow.

Çalık stated that there is a 2 thousand 400 meters long double-tube tunnel, one 660 meters stretched inclined cable bridge and one 123 meters long reinforced concrete bridge within the scope of the project and thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu. .
