İZDENİZ Car Ferry Tariffs Updated

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality updated the fare tariff of the car ferries within İZDENİZ with the unanimous decision of UKOME. Continuing to subsidize all costs, especially increasing fuel prices, the Metropolitan Municipality will continue to provide services with the lowest price per mile with new transportation fees.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) with the decision of the General Assembly İZDENİZ A.Ş. It has updated the ferry fare tariff, which provides service within its body.

With the unanimous decision of the UKOME General Assembly on November 9, 2022, the fare tariffs of the ferries serving on the Bostanlı - Üçkuyular line were updated due to increasing costs. With the new tariff that will come into effect on December 1, 2022, the motorcycle boarding fee will be increased from 13 TL to 16 TL, the car boarding fee will be from 45 TL to 55 TL, minibus-truck-midibus boarding fee will be from 100 TL to 125 TL, bus -Truck boarding fee increased from 185 TL to 230 TL, TIR boarding fee increased from 350 TL to 430 TL.

Approximately 250 percent subsidy from the Metropolitan

Considering the increase in the expenses of supplying spare parts due to fuel, electricity, personnel and exchange rate, the tariff was changed for the continuity of vehicle transportation by sea. On the Bostanlı-Üçkuyular line, there are 15 flights on weekdays and 56 on weekends, every 52 minutes during the day. In the last two years, only the cost of fuel has increased by 588,72 percent. In the current situation, for each transported vehicle, a subsidy is made by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, equal to the transportation cost of approximately 2,5 vehicles.

Lowest wage despite increase

Despite the recent increases, the lowest transportation fee per mile continues to be applied by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, considering the tariffs of other companies engaged in sea transportation in Turkey. While there is no charge for passengers other than the driver in the transported vehicles, the 5 kuruş fee applied to cyclists on ships will continue.
