Yaşar University students prepared their first end-of-term projects on the Island Casino, which is under restoration work by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Examining the works of the students, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Soyer said, “I was very impressed with the projects. A future has been built by both protecting and respecting the roots of the past while nourishing, protecting and respecting it.”
Yaşar University Faculty of Architecture Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design final year students made their first end-of-term projects on the Kulturpark Island Casino, which is owned by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. President Soyer, who examined the projects, said that he was very impressed by the works. Minister Tunç Soyer“Every living organism has a genetic code. It provides code continuity. Societies also have genetic codes. It continues to exist by being passed down from generation to generation. As what? With traditions, architectural designs, customs and traditions, lifestyle, culture… It continues to exist somehow. It is described as 'İzmir is the capital of democracy and tolerance'. But maybe we leave some things missing because those genetic codes are not well understood. The genetic codes are somewhat hidden here. If we can understand them correctly and understand them well, we can find the opportunity to determine our future more accurately.”

I was very impressed with the work. You captured the spirit of the past well. Ada Casino is one of the most striking and beautiful examples of the modern architecture of that period. Yaşar University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cemali Dinçer, on the other hand, emphasized that the spirit of Ada Casino was captured in the works.
