The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization examined the 3-kilometer tram line project planned by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality between “Feshane (Haliç) - Bayrampaşa”. "Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is not required" decision was made for the project. The new tram line is expected to be completed in 2 years and cost about 434 million TL.

HabertürkAccording to the report of Mehmet Demirkaya from Istanbul, the Feshane-Bayrampaşa tram line, which was brought to the agenda in 2015 by Kadir Topbaş, the former head of the IMM, was approved without the need for an EIA process. Eminönü-Alibeyköy tram line will be connected to Eyüp Feshane and the new tram line will be approximately 3 kilometers.

There will be 5 station on the tram line which will be located between Bayrambasi City Hall and Cevik Force. Half the tram line is going underground.

According to the promotional file of the project, the tram line is expected to cost 434 million 124 thousand TL. In the new line, tram lines of 2 vehicles will be run and the average tour time will be 21 minutes. Each series will have a capacity of 572 passengers.

In the report of the project, the importance of this line for the region was explained as follows:

“Eyüp-Bayrampaşa line, which is a region where the working population density is high, has been planned for the purpose of a continuous double-way, comfortable and safe passenger transportation between important city centers and existing rail systems. The Eyüp-Bayrampaşa line is integrated with five important lines such as Eminönü-Alibeyköy Tram, Vezneciler-Sultangazi Metro, Topkapı-Habibler Tramway, Yenikapı-Aksaray-Airport Metro and Kazlıçeşme-Söğütlüçeşme Metro lines, which are planned within the framework of the Urban Transportation Plan. It will play an important role in ensuring its integration into the city.

The planned rail system line will form the backbone of the public transportation system in the region

It will be one of the lines and it will be an important alternative for travels mostly with private vehicles. ”
