Sena Kaleli, CHP Bursa Member of Parliament and Party Assembly Member Responsible for Bayburt, submitted a question proposal to the TGNA Presidency regarding the Erzincan Trabzon Railway project, which is planned to be passed through the Eastern Black Sea. In the motion of the question submitted by the Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Binali Yıldırım, CHP's Party Assembly Member responsible for Bayburt, who asked whether the land, air and railway projects were included in the investment program for the revitalization of Bayburt industry and trade, Bayburt of the Erzurum Trabzon Railway Route, Bayburt. He stressed that it is of great importance for him.

Senator of the CHP Bursa and Parliamentary Party Member responsible for Bayburt, who has previously submitted a research proposal to the Turkish Parliament Presidency in order to investigate the causes of immigration and take permanent measures, which led to the constant decline of Bayburt's population, this time planned to pass through the Eastern Black Sea and Bayburt. He also proposed a question about the Erzincan Trabzon Railway project, which is very closely related to the project.

Pointing out that Bayburt, which has a population of nearly 1990 thousand in the 110s, has constantly emigrated due to the stagnation of economic life and lack of investment, Kaleli said in his question proposal: sees migration as a remedy. However, Bayburt is an important stop of the “silk and spice road” between Trabzon and Iran, which is the old transit trade route. Transportation is of great importance for the development of the industrial and commercial life in the province, the revitalization of the economy and the achievement of total development. Even in a period that is praised for making the most progress in the history of the Republic, Bayburt is unfortunately unable to take its share in transportation ”.

The proposal, which was submitted by Kaleli to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey with the request of the Minister Yıldırım, included some of the following questions about the transportation of Bayburt:

“With a population of nearly 1990 thousand in the 110s, Bayburt constantly migrates and shrinks due to the stagnation of economic life and lack of investment. According to the studies conducted, the population, which is 75 thousand as of today, is expected to fall below 2023 thousand in 50. The main reason for this is unemployment and migration. Bayburt, where trade and industry does not develop, agriculture and animal husbandry cannot stimulate the economy, and where handicrafts and weaving works face the danger of extinction, looks like a closed province. Bayburt people, who are left idle with social aids, consider migration as a remedy, as well as not giving importance to the infrastructure works towards the urbanization process by local governments. However, Bayburt is an important stop of the “silk and spice road” between Trabzon and Iran, which is the old transit trade route. Transportation is of great importance for the development of the industrial and commercial life in the province, the revitalization of the economy and the achievement of total development. Even in a period that is praised for making the most progress in the history of the Republic, Bayburt cannot take its share in transportation, unfortunately! ”
”Railway is of great importance for Bayburt“

“If Bayburt, Demirözü, Gökçedere and Sadak roads are turned into double roads, it is clear that the road to Istanbul and Erzincan will be shortened by 35 kilometers. But Bayburt people are still sentenced to pass through Köse and Kelkit. The route of a possible Trabzon Erzincan Railway line is also of great importance for Bayburt. In this context, what investments were made in Bayburt in the period of 11 years of AKP governments and how much resources were transferred for these investments? What is the place of your Ministry among other provinces in terms of investment, project and resource transfer? What are the transportation investments currently carried out by your ministry in Bayburt? When did these investments start and what is the anticipated date for their completion? What are your land, air and rail projects included in the investment program for the revitalization of Bayburt industry and trade? Are there any updates and studies on the train and airline port determined in 1950 and 1954? At which stage are the works related to the Trabzon - Erzincan railway line? Has any planning been made for the line in question to include Bayburt and Gümüşhane?
