One Message from 30 Organized Structures: We are against every initiative that impedes the freedom of association!

Dear public workers and respected citizens,
First of all, we wish God's mercy to those who lost their lives in the great earthquake that took place in Kahramanmaraş on February 6 last year, affecting many of our provinces and deeply wounding us all, we wish patience and convenience to our citizens who are trying to heal their wounds, and we pay our respects to the volunteers and public workers who worked with all their might during this entire process.
We are witnessing that legislative changes that have not been made for years in the field of public unionism and regulations that will hinder freedom of association have been made in the last few years. The monopolist mentality, which introduced a unionization threshold of first 1% with the hope of union monopolization, and then 2% by taking the courage to resort to illegality through the law, is having tantrums with unprecedented hatred.
Unfortunately, the profit-seeking of the structures that put themselves above institutions and norms by viewing even the annulment decisions of the judicial power as controversial, in a way that casts a shadow on the independence of the judiciary of our country, has not ended. The falling masks of these yellow groups, who abandoned the hard work of all civil servants in 11 branches of service to their fate, have revealed their true face.
As the facts emerge, ineffective authorized structures that try to wear down workers with mobbing, artificial dams, and arbitrary decisions of partisan administrators, are now under the name of solidarity dues and law changes; They are trying to maintain their unsuccessful positions not by fighting, but by continuing to put pressure on public employees. To all the unions that resist all these carelessness with the language dictated by the law, protect the rights of civil servants, and come together in minimum common ground by saying that public servants cannot be poor; We would like to thank all the MPs who supported us both in parliamentary discussions and through legal channels.
We have come together as a total of 29 unions and 1 confederation from different business lines to prevent your efforts from falling victim to the new tricks of this mentality, which tries to usurp the right of public employees to unionize with what they have done and claimed to do, claims to benefit the public by doing this, and actually causes the greatest harm to the public. As unions that represent the real and free initiative of the field, after accepting our differences as richness and achieving the virtue of meeting in common values; We came together to defend the rights and future of all public officials by observing justice.
He derives his power not from political powers; We stand before you as public workers who, as independent organizations with ideas and actions that derive directly from the support of their members, watch with great shame the statements they made in the period following the annulment of the 2% threshold built by the yellow groups by the decision of the Constitutional Court. In the world we live in, regional, narrow-minded, anti-democratic, closed minds have no way of living; But we say that our state and nation have more than a century of democratic experience and thousands of years of state wisdom and tradition. In our understanding, the state is the authority that observes the law of the right, not the strong. This is a norm that exists at the basis of our state tradition. However, at this point, we are faced with a so-called authorized but ineffective union structure that does not even recognize state practices.
As the Public Unions Platform, we are not among those who only object and try to create a deadlock, we aim to fight for the understanding of participatory democracy to prevail in our country; We would like to inform you that we are closely following all the steps of the so-called union-named structures that resist the freedom of association, pursuing dirty intentions, and that we have determined a common road map against all kinds of initiatives that may hinder the freedom of association, with the methods shaped by our common understanding. We declare that we take responsibility for all initiatives that we deem essential, especially legal regulations and de facto unions, in order to establish Turkish public unionism on a modern, liberal, participatory, inclusive and effective basis worthy of the 21st century.
We would like to inform you that we held our first meeting as the Public Unions Platform and officially started a comprehensive, qualified and sustainable working process.
