Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is hosting the exhibition of the painter Onay Akbaş, who lives in Paris, at the Kulturpark Atlas Pavilion. Bringing together an important selection of his works with art lovers in a retrospective presentation, the exhibition can be visited until 30 July.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is hosting the famous painter Onay Akbaş's “Line-From End to End” painting exhibition. The exhibition of the painter living in Paris can be visited at Kültürpark Atlas Pavilion until 30 July. Curated by Erkan Doğanay and coordinated by Baran Arslan Curoğlu, the exhibition brings together the sketches and designs of the works produced by the artist between 1984 and 2023.

Who is Onay Akbas?

He was born on May 1, 1964 in Fatsa. He completed his higher education at Marmara University Atatürk Education Faculty Painting Department. He started his professional art life by opening his first workshop in Maltepe, Istanbul in 1985. He took part in the establishment of the formation known as “Maltepe Painters” in the art circle. To date, he has held more than 50 solo exhibitions in many countries and his works have been exhibited in many group exhibitions. The artist is the winner of the Turkish Journalists Association Sedat Semavi Awards, 2014 Visual Arts Award.
