According to the statement made by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center, the Konyaray Suburban Line project has started. This project is carried out in cooperation with Konya Metropolitan Municipality and General Directorate of TCDD.

The Konyaray Suburban Line, which will be built within the scope of the project, will reduce the 1-hour journey by road to 30 minutes and will be 26 kilometers in total. The first stage is 17,4 kilometers long and will connect the Konya Station and the airport, and the second stage will connect Yaylapınar and the Organized Industrial Zone.

This suburban system, which will serve 90 thousand passengers daily, will provide uninterrupted and comfortable transportation between the industrial zones and organized industrial zones in Meram, Karatay and Selçuklu districts. It will also play a major role in transporting workers to industrial areas.

The project is expected to take two years to complete. When completed, it is expected that the traffic density in the morning and evening hours will decrease.

With the start of the works within the scope of the project, traffic arrangement will be made at the M.Sıdkı Bilgin (Meram Yeniyol) underpass and the traffic will be temporarily provided in one way.
