The 6th application of the İZTAŞIT model, which was first implemented in Seferihisar by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in order to integrate the surrounding districts into the public transportation network, will begin service in Bergama in December.
Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç SoyerThe İZTAŞIT project, which was launched in Seferihisar in 2019 to provide safe, comfortable and economical public transportation services all over the city, is preparing to set off in Bergama on December 1, 2023, following Kiraz, Menemen, Yeni Foça and Ödemiş Kaymakçı. İZTAŞIT Bergama vehicles will start operating with 4 lines and a total of 16 buses, after the contract to be signed between Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and SS Bergama Urban Road Passenger Transport Cooperative. Thanks to the new buses, transportation will be carried out in the Bergama region with vehicles that comply with the legislation. Passenger transportation service will be provided in a safer manner, within the rules.
İzmirim Card advantages
Thanks to the project, the cash payment period for public transportation in Bergama will end and people will travel with Izmirim Card. Citizens aged 60 and 65 living in the region, disabled people, students and teachers, and those using free and discounted cards will be able to benefit from public transportation rights.
Department of Transportation and ESHOT supervised service
İZTAŞIT vehicles, drivers and cooperative management will be under the supervision of the Transportation Department and ESHOT General Directorate. All training given to ESHOT drivers will also be given regularly to İZTAŞIT drivers. Transportation plans will be made by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department and ESHOT General Directorate Transportation Planning Department.
Tradesmen are developing by being institutionalized
İZTAŞIT project, which pioneers the development of minibus tradesmen in Turkey's economic crisis environment, enables individual transporters to unite under a corporate roof. Public transportation vehicles are also being renewed in the districts where the İZTAŞIT project is activated. İZTAŞITs, which have high passenger capacity, are well-equipped, environmentally friendly, suitable for disabled access, have or can be attached to bicycle attachments, and are inspected with in-car camera systems, increase the quality standards in public transportation services.
