Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, stated that they saw the light in the Demirkapı Tunnel on the Antalya-Manavgat junction and the Tağıl-İbradi junction road, and that they aim to complete the project by the end of this year. Pointing out that the distance between Antalya and Konya will be shortened by 30 kilometers when the project is completed, Karaismailoğlu emphasized that an annual saving of 36,5 million TL will be achieved.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu spoke at the Antalya Demirkapı Tunnel Light Vision Ceremony. Karaismailoğlu said, “We have completed the excavation works in the Demirkapı Tunnel, on our way to the Antalya-Manavgat junction, the Tağıl-İbradi junction, which is still under construction,” Karaismailoğlu said, adding that the ultimate aim of their work is to further strengthen trade and tourism with a superior service understanding.

WE INVESTED NEARLY 23 BILLION TL FOR ANTALYA'S TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNICATION

Karaismailoğlu said, “This power returns as added value to the economy of our people and our country, and raises our level of welfare. We have never forgotten that in this country the nation is the master and the political power is the servant. We gave to the nation what we took from the nation. During the period of our governments, we have invested close to 23 billion liras in total, including build-operate-transfer projects for Antalya's transportation and communication. We increased the divided road length of Antalya, which had only 2003 kilometers of divided roads in 197, to 676 kilometers. We have increased the length of the hot bituminous paved road in Antalya, the tourism paradise, by 6,5 times, to 922 kilometers.

WE BUILD 21 THOUSAND 473 METERS OF TUNNEL TO ANTALYA

Karaismailoğlu said that in the last 19 years, they have completed 322 kilometers of single-tube road construction and improvement throughout the province of Antalya, and that they have built a total of 15 thousand 5 meters of tunnels, 21 of which are single-tube and 473 double-tube. Underlining that they have built 17 bridges in Antalya with a total length of 753 thousand 154 meters, Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows:

“We crossed impassable mountains with tunnels and deep valleys with bridges and viaducts. Together with Antalya West and North Ring roads, we built Alanya East Ring roads. In addition to the increased driving safety on the route, where we shortened the Eastern Mediterranean Coastal Road by 140 minutes and 43 kilometers, we both shortened and facilitated Antalya's access to Mersin Port. Construction work continues intensively in the missing areas. We have improved the district roads along with many tourism roads throughout Antalya. The total budget size of our ongoing 14 highway investments in this beautiful city reaches 7,5 billion liras. We will complete our projects one by one and put them into service in the coming days. While ensuring the holistic development of Antalya with these investments, we have transformed our city into a tourism paradise with high driving safety. With our improved, two-way transportation, reduced bends, shortened distances, and tunneled roads, we made the connection of Antalya to 80 by land comfortable, fast and safe. We continue our work in this area with our new investments.”

WE INCREASED DIVERSE PATH LENGTH APPROXIMATELY 4X

Pointing out that they have increased the length of the divided highway, which was taken over as 2003 thousand kilometers across Turkey in 6, to 4 thousand 28 kilometers by about 530 times, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “Although the number of vehicles in our country has increased by 20% and vehicle mobility by 170% in the last 180 years, with our investments, the number of deaths in accidents has increased. We reduced the loss by 81 percent. Thanks to the divided roads we make across the country, we save 21 billion liras annually. 4,5 million tons of carbon emission reduction was achieved. Our roads have improved production, employment and trade in the places they pass. With our roads, we have saved approximately 315 million hours in the workforce in our country. The numerical equivalent of this is 12 billion 965 million liras. All these achievements are the work of those who trust their people, get trust from their people and give their heart to the country.”

“NO STOP, KEEP ON THE WAY”

Noting that they spent approximately 2003 trillion 2021 billion liras for Turkey's transportation and communication investments in the 1-145 period, Karaismailoğlu said that among these investments, highway investments took the first place with approximately 698 billion liras. Expressing that they continue their planned investments in line with the Transportation and Logistics Master Plan without slowing down, Karaismailoğlu said, “For us, 'don't stop, just keep going.' Until the 100th anniversary of our Republic; We will increase our divided road length to 29 kilometers, our tunnel length to 500 kilometers, our bridge and viaduct length to 720 kilometers, and our highway length to 771 kilometers," he said.

WE WILL SAVE 36,5 MILLION TL ANNUALLY

Pointing out that they are on a historical day for Antalya, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu made the following assessments:

“We have completed all the excavation works of our Demirkapı Tunnel on our way between Antalya-Manavgat and Tağıl-İbradi. With the completion of the Demirkapı Tunnel and its connection roads, the connection between the inner parts of our country and the southern line will be strengthened. Our road project, in which our tunnel is located, covers 67 kilometers of the 34 kilometer highway line in total. The total cost of our project, which also includes our Demirkapı Tunnel, is 1,5 billion liras. We aimed to complete our Demirkapı Tunnel and connection roads project at the end of this year and put it at the service of our people. When our project is completed; The distance between Antalya and Konya will be shortened by 30 kilometers. We will save a total of 30 million TL annually, including 6,5 million TL from time and 36,5 million TL from fuel. In addition, carbon emissions will decrease by 2 thousand 535 tons. When our road is put into service, together with tourism activities, it will be much easier for industrial products to reach domestic and foreign markets. Our road and tunnel will add vitality to the region and bring abundance and fertility.”

25 percent of the operating price will be taken in advance

Karaismailoğlu stated that they fulfilled their responsibilities to Antalya with their land, air, railway and seaway investments, and said that they renewed the domestic and international terminals of Antalya Airport. Karaismailoğlu said, "It was not enough, we increased the capacity of our airport and we made the new lease tender," and continued his speech as follows:

“The investment with an investment value of 760 million Euros will be made as external financing. During the 25-year operational guarantee, our country will generate 8,5 billion Euros in revenue. Of this, 25 percent, that is, 2,138 billion Euros, will be received in cash within 90 days. With our project, which will be completed in 36 months by the investor in Turkish-German-French partnership with the commitment of 'zero guarantee', our state and nation will have another valuable work that will be realized with the Build-Operate-Transfer model, without a penny coming out of our state's coffers. Thus, we have realized the lease of the operating rights of domestic and international flights, general aviation, CIP terminals and completion structures, together with the additional investments for capacity increase of our airport.”

ANTALYA-ALANYA HIGHWAY TENDER WORK CONTINUES

In addition, the Antalya-Alanya highway tender, which is extremely important for Antalya, is continuing to work, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “The ultimate aim of our work is to further strengthen our trade and tourism with a superior service understanding. This power returns as added value to the economy of our people and our country, and raises our level of welfare. As we implemented our huge, domestic and national projects, everyone saw that we are completing the works that others even hesitate to dream of, with our determination, hard work and the support of our righteousness. Transportation and infrastructure projects are not only technical projects, engineering studies. For employment, for commerce, for education, for social life; they are carriers. Transportation and infrastructure projects are the removal of obstacles in front of our country and our nation to live as they deserve. For this reason, we are proud of completing our projects one by one in Antalya, as in our whole country, and presenting them to the service of our nation. Our brothers from Antalya get the share they deserve from our investments across the country. We will continue our investments in 2022 without slowing down," he said.
