An explanation has been made from Manisa Metropolitan Municipality regarding the route of the Ankara-Polatlı-Afyonkarahisar-Uşak-İzmir High Speed ​​Railway Project, which will reduce the 824 kilometers distance between Ankara and İzmir from 14 hours to 3 hours 30 minutes.
From the first day on the agenda, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cengiz Ergün emphasized that the route should not pass through the city and determined an alternative route with his staff, an urgent expropriation decision by the Council of Ministers regarding the Ankara-Polatlı-Afyonkarahisar-Uşak-İzmir High Speed ​​Railway Project and the news in the media. a statement came from the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality due to its participation. Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Aytaç Yalçınkaya stated that they held a meeting on Monday, July 18 at the General Directorate of TCDD, where the Regional Director of Highways was also present, and said, “The issues of urgent Gediz Junction and high-speed train passing outside the ring road were on the agenda. came ”he said.

Deputy Secretary General Yalçınkaya stated that even the station where the high speed train will be built was discussed at the meeting, and said, “The construction of the station close to the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Intercity Bus Terminal, and the citizens who will get off from there can easily switch to the auto terminal. At the meeting, a new project was drawn up by TCDD in the region and it was brought to the agenda. Even with the signatures of those present at the meeting, this decision was recorded. Nevertheless, upon the expropriation decision, I personally called TCDD General Directorate and got information. From there, it was replied that 'the line will pass through the ring road area, and in case of a mishap, planning is made for the inner city,' ”he said.
